I Have Nothing to Wear!

Although this is true, I am talking about the new program on TLC. This is the next best thing to Project Runway! Last weekend I wasn't feeling tip top so stayed home and watched TV while Corey carried on with Game Night at our friends. I was feeling kind of bad for myself until I realized that not only would I get to watch What Not to Wear, I also caught one of the first episodes of I Have Nothing to Wear. They take some one's closet over and items that are deemed unwearable are sent to the chop shop. Then they take the person shopping for some new basics and create a look book to refer back to so they can never say, "I have nothing to wear." The chop shop is the best part. Three design students fight over the old duds and then transform them into the "jems" of recipients new wardrobe, competing for the pick of "favorite new garment." There are a lot of really good and really bad things produced which only makes for good TV. Nothing to do tonight? Watch it! Big plans for TGIF? Tivo it!

Birthday Boy!

The truth is I still want to say he is my birthday baby but he is turning into a little boy. Max turned one on Saturday and we threw a little party at the park next to the sprayground. Here are some pictures of the big day. Max loved the water, the kids, the presents, the cake, the frosting, the chocolate sprinkles and the sugar buzz that followed. A great day for our birthday buckaroo!

Midland Moment

This morning at the "Speedway" Gas n' Sip I noticed the car at the pump in front of me had a bumper sticker that read, "My husband's pay check goes to = my horse equipement." What???? Why and where would you get that sticker? Why the equal sign? I was dumb founded and then as the van pulled out I caught the window sticker that read, "A woman loves her horses."

No doubt. I hope her husband does too.

Founding Fathers

Happy day to fathers everywhere but especially those who founded my family. Three cheers for husbands, daddies, and grandaddies! You are the companions, providers, soccer coaches, jar openers, fishermen, teases and loves of our lives. We are happy to celebrate you today.

Midland Moment

So I am going to start a new vein to my blog for the summer called Midland Moments. Living in a small town for the summer is already proving to be good material. This morning I walked over to "the office" for our apartment complex which is apparently a card table set up in the club house garage. I asked if I could buy 2 stamps and the lady (who I interrupted from a game of cards- with herself) said, "Oh, you can just have 'em." I insisted on giving her my stack of change and she told me she couldn't put in down for nothin' in the tender or produce a receipt so not to bother. I suggested she could use it to buy herself candy from the vending machine. At this she perked up, took my coins and said, "Wellllll...I do jolly me some chocolate!" Amen lady.

Blame Canada!

Until recently I have never really paid much attention to our northern neighbors. On our drive to our summer abode in Michigan we decided to visit Montreal and Toronto on the way. We had a wonderful time and it was a beautiful drive.

In the past two week the Walker family has covered a lot of territory. We flew to Virginia and back then got home and packed up for the summer and headed to Montreal and loved the city and had a wonderful time among the frenchies. Then we put Max back in his car seat and drove down to Toronto. We spent the night there and kicked around the city that afternoon until we packed up again and headed back to the US of A and to our destination- Midland, Michigan. We will be here until mid August when the internship is over. In my haste to pack up and move out I forgot my camera components so can't upload any pictures. Annoying but I'm trying to figure out something. I'll post some pictures of our travels and Max for those who need their Max fix! Toodaloo from Michigan!

Me, Myself and I

Meet Max's best friend- his reflection. He is always so happy to see him and loves to point and play with him. He seems forever amazed that his best friend says and does all same things at the same time! I took a couple of pictures of him playing with his reflection but as soon as he saw the camera he kept turning around but they turned out cute anyway.
